HOW TO LEARN AND PRACTISE WITH CHATGPT AI

Daily English Conversations • Use ChatGPT AI to practise every topic and speak naturally

THE CORE METHOD  Learn less → Recall more → Speak naturally → Get feedback → Speak again

Your goal

Your goal is not to remember an entire document. Your goal is to respond naturally in a real conversation without translating every sentence in your head.

Success means: you can understand, respond, ask a follow-up question, and continue speaking even when your English is not perfect.

The three smart-learning rules

1. Learn less — Choose only 5–8 useful expressions in one session. Learn complete phrases, not isolated words.

2. Recall more — Close the lesson and retrieve the expressions from memory. Difficult recall strengthens memory.

3. Speak naturally — Use keywords, not a memorised script. Keep the meaning personal, simple and true to your life.

REMEMBER  Reading feels easy, but recall creates memory. Speaking creates fluency.

How to use ChatGPT AI with any topic

Open one topic file in this folder, then follow the same four steps:

  1. Choose one specific situation—not the whole file.

  2. Select only 5–8 expressions you genuinely need today.

  3. Tell ChatGPT the topic, situation and practice mode.

  4. Speak aloud, repeat corrections, finish the challenge and save your three weaknesses.

Before you practise — 5 minutes

  1. Choose one real-life situation, such as ordering coffee, speaking to a Grab driver, calling a delivery driver or asking for help in a shop.

  2. Select 5–8 expressions that you would genuinely use in that situation.

  3. Read the short sample conversation aloud once to understand the flow.

  4. Write 4–6 keywords only. Do not copy complete answers.

  5. Close the lesson before speaking.

Example keywords: iced latte → less sugar → takeaway → QR payment → thank you

How ChatGPT AI should correct you

During controlled practice, use this feedback loop:

  • You answer aloud.

  • The coach corrects only the most important problem.

  • The coach gives one natural version and a brief reason.

  • You say the improved answer again.

  • The coach asks a natural follow-up question.

IMPORTANT: Do not collect ten corrections at once. Correct → repeat → continue.

Controlled practice vs. free speaking

CONTROLLED PRACTICE

FREE SPEAKING

Correct after each short answer
Repeat the improved sentence
Focus on accuracy and useful phrases

Do not interrupt while you speak
Give feedback after 1–2 minutes
Focus on flow, reactions and confidence

Use conversation tools, not long answers

Natural conversation is interactive. Practise these four tools every session:

  • React: Really? / That sounds good. / I know what you mean.

  • Answer: I usually work at a café before starting my job.

  • Add one detail: It helps me concentrate and gives me a change of environment.

  • Return the question: How about you? / What do you usually do?

The natural-answer formula

REACT → ANSWER → DETAIL → RETURN  Use this when you need help continuing a conversation.

Question: How was your weekend?

Natural answer: It was quite relaxing, thanks. I went for a drive and spent some time at a café. How about yours?

Five-day practice cycle

Day 1 — Learn 5–8 expressions and practise short answers.

Day 2 — Recall without reading and improve the same answers.

Day 3 — Complete two realistic role-plays with small problems.

Day 4 — Tell a personal story or complete a two-minute challenge.

Day 5 — Have a free conversation and review your three priority weaknesses.

Spaced review: Review briefly on Days 7, 14 and 30. Do not relearn everything—test what you can recall.

Start every ChatGPT AI session with this prompt

Let’s practise [TOPIC] from my Daily English Conversations folder. Use [SITUATION] as today’s real-life scenario. First, test my recall of 5–8 useful expressions without showing the answers. Then ask me one question at a time and wait for my spoken answer. After each answer, correct only the most important grammar, vocabulary or pronunciation problem. Give me one natural B1–B2 version, explain briefly, and ask me to repeat it. Ask natural follow-up questions and help me keep the conversation alive. After five controlled questions, become a real person and start a realistic role-play. Do not interrupt my final two-minute speaking challenge. At the end, show my three recurring weaknesses, natural replacements, expressions to review and the next review day.

What not to do

  • Do not learn 30–50 new words in one session.

  • Do not memorise an entire sample answer word for word.

  • Do not read silently for most of the session.

  • Do not wait until your grammar is perfect before speaking.

  • Do not study a new topic before recalling the previous one.

End-of-session self-check

I spoke more than I read.
I recalled expressions without looking.
☐ I repeated my corrected sentences aloud.
☐ I asked at least one return question.
☐ I completed one uninterrupted speaking attempt.
☐ I know the three mistakes to improve next time.

FINAL RULE  Simple English used automatically is better than advanced English remembered slowly.

Start small. Speak early. Repeat often. Keep the conversation moving.
